Reporting to the Director, Vehicle Data Systems, the Manager, Systems Engineer Diagnostics is responsible for the applications, systems and tools used for advanced vehicle telematics and diagnostics supporting systems.



  • Deliver work of superior quality, on time.
  • Efficiently and effectively provide updates to business leadership regarding project status and the application and implementation of technology.
  • Assist with organizational planning and strategy.
  • Lead internal technical and development teams.
  • Oversee key project activities including system design, system configuration testing, network testing, benchmarking, test procedure development, and system integration.
  • Determine specific business application software requirements to address complex and varied business needs and analyses and designs solutions to complex and varied business needs.
  • Monitor functioning of equipment and make necessary modifications to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications.
  • Update knowledge and skills by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations to keep pace with advancements in automotive technology.

  • Ensure applications, protocols and processes meet requirements and quality standards.
  • Create and integrate prototype applications leveraging existing and future technologies.
  • Develop prototypes and create robust high-volume production applications.
  • Test and verify hardware and support peripherals to ensure that they meet specifications and requirements.
  • Drive technical reviews of project, including scope of work, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Lead efforts to coordinate complex tasks (design, development, documentation, integration, test, and certification) across functional groups to meet committed deliverables such as schedule, cost, and functionality.
  • Manage numerous third party development and integration efforts.
  • Collect customer requirements, determine technical issues, and design reports to meet data analysis needs.
  • Develop software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.



  • B.S. in CS/EE or equivalent
  • MSc in CS/EE preferred


  • Experience automotive applications development a major plus.
  • Experience embedded systems development a major plus.
  • Experience enterprise applications development a major plus.
  • Experience developing across multiple platforms is a major plus.
  • Experience developing automotive enterprise systems a major plus.
  • Can exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Excellent grasp of fundamental software development lifecycle.
  • Passionate about technology, innovation, and of course, cars.
  • Can track multiple assignments and tasks simultaneously.
  • Reliable, committed self-starter, with a focus on producing compelling work.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and organizational skills.
  • Possess the desire and ability to learn new technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Keeps up to date on latest technologies and industry developments.


Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Software Release Management, Version Control and Source Control.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, and MS Visio.
  • Proficiency in MS Project preferred.
  • Superior communication skills.
  • Superior time management skills combined with an ability to multiplex across different tasks.
  • At least 10 years in one or more of the following programming languages; AT, Embedded C/C++, Java, JavaScript, C#, .NET, XML.
  • At least 10 years in one or more of the following development environments; Visual Studio, Vector Canalyzer, CAPL, Cross Code C/C++ Compiler, Labview , MatLab, Simulink, Eclipse, Android Studio.At least 10 years in one or more of the following communication protocols; ODX, UDS, CAN, LIN, GMLAN, OBDII, KWP2000.
