The Karma Automotive Quality organization is seeking a candidate with automotive experience that will support the operations departments of our assembly plant to drive and deliver “Zero Defects” products and process to our customers.   Work will be conducted in a team environment supported by functional support organizations to assure the final product to our customers is nothing short of the “Highest Quality vehicle in its Class”.

The Quality Control Manager position will lead, coach, monitor and drive actions in the assembly operations to assure our teams, products and process are performing at their best.   Measuring success and driving continuous improvement through hands-on involvement sets the stage for this position, in our ever growing and expanding company.



Responsibilities

  • Accomplishes quality control human resource objectives by recruiting, evaluating & selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, mentoring, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing & recommending compensation actions. In addition to enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, process, people, systems, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigating customer, audit, and testing issues & complaints; collaborating with other members of management and support teams to develop & enhance our products, processes, teams.
  • Prepares quality documentation and reports by developing measurement strategies, collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends, then taking actions to enlist organizations support to drive actions and plans to resolve issues. Monitoring, measuring and managing actions and plans to accomplish quality objectives.
  • Develops quality control plans by identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing reference and boundary samples, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures; monitoring inventories.
  • Validates quality processes by confirming product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production products, processes & vehicles; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality control procedures.
  • Manage incoming quality inspection activities and assure compliance to specifications and appearance standards. Implement product quality standards.
  • Manage Material Review Board (MRB) reviews with organization teams to access accountability and responsibility to address issues. Track and monitor performance.
  • Serve as liaison between engineering, logistics, supplier quality, purchasing and manufacturing organizations, to assure quality of our products, and release levels are compliant, and in accordance to change management.
  • Manage all material containment activities on suspect materials, and supplier requests.
  • Generate corrective action reports and quality alerts to communicate issues to the respective organizations to drive actions with the responsible parties. Track and monitor performance
  • Follow-up with suppliers to feedback status of findings and drive issue resolution using quality problem solving tools.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
  • Strong Analytical Skills utilizing common and advance quality tools – demonstrated
  • Lean/Quality production system proficiency with demonstrated achievements
  • Minimum 12 years’ experience in OEM Automotive Manufacturing/Assembly or Quality with leadership roles
  • MS Office proficiency including presentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills and must be comfortable with working with people at all levels of the Organization
  • Proficient in the use of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • ISO 9001 / TS 16949 audit experienced

Preferred

  • Green Belt I/ Black Belt in Six Sigma preferred
  • Statistical Engineering (Shainin, Taguchi, etc.) preferred
  • Demonstrated problem solving capabilities utilizing Quality Tools.
